The essence of Thy, expressing our farm distillery style of single malt, where the straight-forward malt and grain flavor of our whisky is at the forefront.

Thy contains all the basic elements of the unique production process at Thy Distillery. The carefully selected organic spring barley grown on the fields surrounding us. The mellow sweetness from slow kilning in our malting drums with a gentle touch of our Danish beechwood smoke. Our unique single distillation routine designed to conserve as much flavor as possible from the malted cereals. Finally matured in a mix of bourbon, oloroso and PX casks aiming for a perfect balance of vinous sweetness, warm oak spice and vanilla to match the rich malty character of our spirit.

Whisky Tradition OUR WAY

The basic idea behind Thy Whisky is to make a whisky, that tastes like the place where it is made, born from the soil on our family farm now in the 8th generation. Of the grain, the craft and the casks.

Our distillation process is unusual. By applying a purifier to increase the reflux of fumes inside the boiler and create a more pure spirit, we can distill our whisky by just a single distillation. The result is a pure new make with high content of esters and a large grain- and malt flavor - a perfect match for whisky farmers like us.

Inviting in the western wind

Our weather-sensitive warehouse gives us an unprecedented opportunity to mature our whisky under the influence of the ever changing coastal weather conditions in Thy. Salty and moist during winter - mild and temperate during the summer season. You can experience the slow magic of maturation for yourself by joining our Cask Share or Private Cask programme.
