The old Danish Imperial barley creates a truly unique whisky. It brings perfumed aromas of ripe grain fields, fresh citrus, and freshly cut grass into the glass. This whisky is an example of a vintage bottling — all the casks used were distilled from our own 2020 harvest of Imperial barley. Vintage releases make particular sense with old Danish grain varieties, where we see greater variation from year to year depending on the growing season’s weather — unlike modern high-yield barley strains.
