The old Danish Imperial barley creates a truly unique whisky. It brings a perfumed aroma of ripe grain fields, fresh citrus, and freshly cut grass into the whisky. After 5 years of aging in fruity Oloroso sherry casks and an American bourbon cask, the whisky has reached a balanced state with a pleasant sweetness and an aroma of berries and strawberry compote with vanilla.

This whisky is an example of a 'vintage' bottling, where all barrels used are distilled from our own 2019 harvest of Imperial barley. Vintage bottlings make particular sense with the old Danish varieties, as we find greater variance from year to year depending on the growing season’s weather conditions, compared to modern high-yield barley varieties.
