This cask strength double cask bottling is a fruity, gently sweet and slightly more smoky interpretation of our beechwood-smoked signature whisky, ‘Bøg’.

The whisky is composed from two particularly intense sherry casks with beechwood smoke, selected by a group of our retailers during a joint cask selection at the distillery. Both casks were re-racked from fresh sherry casks, resulting in a more pronounced imprint of deep, fruity aromas and warm spices from the sherry wood, with notes of dried fruit, warm cocoa and a smouldering layer of bonfire smoke.

The bottling is released with a black label, a label we normally reserve for private bottlings, marking the special process and the close collaboration with the retailers behind this selection.

Two handpicked sherry casks

The whisky is composed from two especially intense sherry casks with a pronounced beechwood smoke. Both casks were re-racked from one fresh sherry cask into another, allowing for an even deeper imprint of rich, fruity aromas and warming spices from the sherry wood — with notes of dried fruits, hot cocoa, and a smouldering layer of campfire smoke.

CERTIFIED ORGANIC

This whisky is made from 100% organic grain grown on our farm, Gyrup. Both the farm and the distillery are certified organic to ensure clean drinking water and good animal welfare.

Beechwood smoke

Smoking the malt for whisky is a powerful way to enhance flavour. In the spirit of traditional Danish smokehouses, we primarily use beechwood instead of peat. Beech is a more sustainable smoke source — but it also delivers a warm, sweet, ashy and full-bodied smoke that we’ve come to love.
