Cask Share - Berlin - Cask 673 (2nd fill)
Finally, the first cask in our German cask share programme was bottled after 4 years of maturation for our favorite crowd in Berlin and Hamburg! A very active 60 liter oloroso cask filled with our signature beechwood smoked new make. Delicious, fruity, spicy and aromatic.
At our cask owners' days in Berlin and Hamburg in december 2025 we decided to re-fill the cask for a new round of cask shares, to continue the journey and the great community we have build together since 2021.
We will re-fill the cask at our cask owners day on 11 January 2026 here at our distillery. We will split the cask into 12 shares of 5 liters (filled volume).
We will chose a new beechwood smoked new make to build on top of the smoky profile, that has already been integrated into the cask from the first fill. This time - with some of the cask flavours already extracted - we will expect the smokiness of the new make to play a more prominent part in the final whisky.
As co-owner of our Thy Whisky x Berlin cask you get to follow the development of the cask at our cask owners' days in Mönchengladbach. We will draw a 6 cl sample for you in 2028, 2030 and 2031, and then finally decide if we bottle the cask for 2032 as a 6-year-old whisky.
You can expect at 6-7 bottles of 50 cl from your share of the cask after 6 years of maturation.
